When I joined, Opal worked but lacked polish. Agencies were using it, but the experience was clunky. Users had to enter the same information multiple times, and the whole thing was structured like a legal document. I rebuilt it around how clients actually work, making it easier to create contracts and invoices without breaking any legal requirements. The focus was on cutting down unnecessarily long processes, bringing in a consistent design system, and fixing fundamental problems like having to re-enter client details everywhere and limited pricing options. We shipped updates every week, so every decision had to be both clear and flexible enough to build on later.
